Help & Support
Using FORGEX DevStudio
FORGEX is a browser-based developer intelligence workspace. You can inspect and edit source code, run static previews, analyze risks, and prepare GitHub pull requests. Contact support using the details below.
Importing a project
Use Open Folder to load files from your computer, or paste a public GitHub repository URL. Files keep their relative paths. Private repositories require connecting your GitHub account.
Editing and analysis
Open files in tabs, edit in the Monaco editor, then run Analyze to receive advisory findings. Results are heuristic and not a full security audit.
Static preview
Preview supports static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It does not run npm, Node servers, or framework build steps. Local images and pages resolve relative to the project. Browser security limits apply to network requests. AI and weather connections are disabled on production deployments until an approved authentication and quota policy is configured. API Tester is separate and remains subject to browser CORS rules.
Preview limits
Preview runs in a browser sandbox. It cannot run backend code such as API routes or servers, and it cannot read .env secrets, so calls to /api/... fail. Calls to public HTTPS APIs work; CORS is handled by our proxy. To test backend features, run the project locally or deploy it.
Environment variables are not available in the preview. Do not paste real secret keys into project files; they would be visible in the browser.
GitHub workflow
Connect GitHub (optional), import a repository, review changes, and create a pull request on a new branch. FORGEX never pushes directly to your default branch. Publishing requires explicit confirmation.
Images, backups and folders
Click an imported image in Explorer to view it, fit it to the panel, zoom or download it. PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF and ICO are stored separately from editable source. Safe SVGs can be viewed as images or opened as source.
Export project backup saves source, images, comparison baselines and repository identity. Older text backups can still be restored. Browser recovery uses storage on this device; keep an exported copy before clearing site data.
Open Folder imports a copy. Save folder writes changed files and images to a folder you select after confirmation, and checks for external changes before writing. It does not automatically synchronize or delete disk files. Persistent linked-folder Save/Reload is not yet available.
Binary images imported from GitHub are read-only for publishing. Adding new binary images locally blocks publishing until reimport; they remain available in your backup. Workflow files can be read but changes to them cannot be published through FORGEX.
Safety notes
Imported code runs in a restricted preview sandbox. Do not import secrets, private keys, or credentials. Clearing browser data may remove unsaved work; export a backup when needed.
